Lowell A. Goldsmith

Chair - Editorial Board
Lowell A. Goldsmith, MD, MPH, is Dean Emeritus of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and Professor of Dermatology and is presently Professor of Dermatology at the University of North Carolina. He chairs the editorial board for VisualDxHealth and recruits expert physicians for both authoring and editorial contribution. Dr. Goldsmith is Editor-in-Chief of both Journal of Investigative Dermatology and Journal Watch Dermatology, and he is an editor of the definitive text, Dermatology in General Medicine.

 

Dr. Goldsmith is one the Masters of Dermatology in the American Academy of Dermatology and has received multiple honors, such as the Distinguished Service Award from the American Board of Dermatology and the Stephen Rothman Memorial Award from the Society for Investigative Dermatology. He has been President of the Association of Professors of Dermatology, Society for Investigative Dermatology, and the American Dermatology Association. Dr. Goldsmith has headed many professional committees and served on multiple medical advisory boards. He is an honorary member of the British, Japanese, and Polish Societies of Dermatology. He holds a U.S. patent and has written over 160 publications and book chapters.

Dr. Goldsmith believes that consumers should be empowered to personally obtain information on their health from an authoritative source.

 

Lawrence Etter, MD, FAAD

Lawrence Etter, MD, FAAD, attended Yale University School of Medicine, completed her internship in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and finished residency training in dermatology at Duke University. Dr. Etter is board certified in dermatology and currently practices general medical dermatology in Durham, NC. Her special interest areas are dermatoses of children and adolescents, ethnic skin, and geriatric dermatology. Dr. Etter believes that education is vital for healthful living, and self-education through consumer-oriented health web sites, such as VisualDxHealth, is an important aspect of maintaining good health, preventing illness, and seeking timely treatment for potential health problems.

 

 

Lavanya Vaidya Nagaraj, MD, FAAD

Lavanya Vaidya Nagaraj, MD, FAAD, attended the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and finished residency training at University of North Carolina Dermatology. She is board certified in dermatology and is currently working in private practice in Raleigh, North Carolina, focusing on general dermatology. Her special interest areas are in medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and pediatric dermatology. Dr. Nagaraj believes consumer health information is extremely important so people can become better informed and play a more active role in their health and well-being.

 

 

Eliza Myers, MD

Eliza Myers, MD, attended Harvard College, where she was a Visual and Environmental Studies major, focusing in photography. Dr. Myers completed a postbaccalaureate year at Bryn Mawr College followed by medical school training at the University of Rochester, graduating in 2005. She is in the last year of a pediatric residency, also at the University of Rochester, and will complete a neonatology fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital starting in summer 2008. Dr. Myers believes consumer health information is vital for educating patients and teaching them to advocate for themselves and for their health.
