Whether you want to keep your skin healthy for that special someone or practice some self-love by loving your skin, here are some tips from Skinsight for great skin.

  • Stay hydrated. Drink lots of water (approximately 8 glasses), use a humidifier if the air is dry, and be sure to moisturize with cream or lotion.
  • Eat healthy. While there is no proven link that greasy, fatty foods cause acne, a healthy, whole foods diet has been proven to support overall health, including improving the skin and possibly easing acne.
  • Practice a daily facial regimen to help treat and prevent breakouts, gently cleansing the skin twice a day (morning and night), using products for your skin type. And, again, don’t forget to moisturize!
  • Use sunscreen. Even though it is cold out, the sun’s rays are still harmful. Using a sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays is best. Many moisturizers and foundations now include SPF, making it even easier to protect the skin from harmful UV rays.
  • Stress less. Even though it is easier said than done, stress can not only weaken your immune system but also promote breakouts as well.
