Is ringworm contagious?
Yes. Ringworm can be passed by skin-to-skin contact or by contact with fomites. Fomites are inanimate objects such as hair brushes and towels that harbor organisms and can transmit a condition to a person. Many people wear flip flops in gyms and public showers to avoid contracting a fungus. Wearing flip flops also helps to prevent transmission of wart viruses.
Dr. Lowell Goldsmith and Dr. Jeff Bernhard contributed their expertise on behalf of Logical Images for the above information.
