For the eighth day we introduce you to cosmeceuticals, cosmetic agents (such as eye creams) that are non-prescription but only available through a physician’s office. Be sure to consult your dermatologist before using these products.

A “cosmeceutical” is a cosmetic agent that is non-prescription but only available through a physician’s office. Enormous varieties of such products are on the market and they tout a range of actions. Start slow as these expenditures can get out of hand quickly! A good place to start is with the various eye creams and the retinoid derivatives. Certain “systems” are available such as Obagi® and Glytone®, with prepackaged components suggested as a comprehensive approach to skin care.
